Easy naked-eye smudge from the ridge. Through 8×42s the central bulge was sharp, the dust lane just hinted at on the south-west edge. M32 caught averted vision after 4 minutes of adaptation. Best view all year.

Two equatorial belts crisp, the southern one notably darker. Great Red Spot rotated into view ~23:30. Io transit began at 23:42, shadow preceded the disk. Callisto far east, Ganymede & Europa west.

Trapezium resolved to 4 components effortlessly; E and F suggested at 150×. Nebulosity flowed deep with UHC — the dark inlet of the Fish's Mouth was startlingly distinct. Logged 47 minutes at the eyepiece.
